Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit
New York City • October 20–23, 2016

We are thrilled and honored that Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit is returning to New York this fall. Grandmaster Wong truly enjoys traveling and sharing the Shaolin Arts with students worldwide and we are grateful that New York is part of his tour in North America.

This year’s courses will be very special. Rather than teaching a specific art, such as 18 Lohan Hands or Sinew Metamorphosis, Grandmaster Wong will focus his teachings on specific benefit such as healing pain and illness or attaining a Zen Mind to feel mentally fresh and peaceful. He will select exercises and skills from his extensive repertoire of Shaolin Arts that are most suitable for a specific benefit.

Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit is a world-renowned and beloved Shaolin Chi Kung and Kung Fu master with thousands of active students worldwide. He has helped thousands regain vibrant health, eliminate chronic pain, overcome incurable illnesses and live a happy, peaceful and joyful life. It is indeed a privilege to have Grandmaster Wong continue sharing his timeless wisdom and transmit his treasured skills to the participants of these special courses.

Essence of Healing and Cleansing
“Good health is your birthright. It is natural to be healthy.”
– Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit

For over three decades, Grandmaster Wong has been helping people all over the world regain physical, emotional and mental health through the Shaolin Arts. His student’s countless success stories, from overcoming migraines, chronic joint pain and depression to so-called “incurable” diseases like diabetes or cancer, have made him one of the most well known and respected masters in the world. In 1997, his work on healing cancer was recognized when he was awarded “Qigong Master of the Year” at the World Congress on Qigong in San Francisco. (Qigong may also be written as Chi Kung).

Grandmaster Wong will teach a special course, Essence of Healing and Cleansing – a culmination of his many years of healing and teaching. He will share with course participants what he believes are the best patterns and skills to overcome any health problems and maintain vibrant health.

This course is suitable for total beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners alike. In the morning session, Grandmaster Wong will cover the basic skills of a genuine Chi Kung practice such as deep relaxation, letting go and generating energy (chi) flow, and then will progress to more advanced skills in the afternoon session.

Grandmaster Wong will provide a clear roadmap for your continuing practice after the course and how to achieve the best long-term results.

Elements of Attaining Vitality and Zen Mind
“When you have attained a heightened state of mind, you will have a sense of tranquility, joy, and inner peace,
yet you will be mentally sharp and fresh at all times.”
– Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit

Many people do not realize that in order to achieve a Zen Mind – to feel tranquility, inner peace and joy – one must first have an abundance of vitality. Vitality, a result of good energy flow, helps clear irrelevant thoughts and keep the mind fresh, hallmarks of Zen Mind. With vitality and mental clarity, we enjoy life to the fullest. From something as simple as reading a book to more demanding tasks such as critical thinking, physical work or sports. With a Zen Mind, we navigate everyday challenges easily and effortlessly – make better judgements and solve complicated problems efficiently.

Grandmaster Wong is an excellent example of living a life of vitality and Zen Mind. He takes the time to enjoy and celebrate life's simple things – for instance, eating ice cream or taking the scenic route – while at the ripe age of 71, he can fly across the world and arrive mentally fresh, relaxed and full of energy to teach an all-day class.

In this course, Grandmaster Wong, will share his secret. He will teach exercises and transmit internal skills that are simple, direct and effective. Participants will experience the Zen Mind, learn how to develop it and apply it in daily life. This is an advanced course and requires participants to have previously taken a course from Grandmaster Wong or from one of Shaolin Wahnam Certified Instructors. New students must first take either “Essence of Healing and Cleansing” or “Flow of Taijiquan”.

Flow of Taijiquan
“Taijiquan is not a dance, but an internal art for health, combat and spiritual cultivation.”
– Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit

Many practitioners do not realize that genuine Taijiquan is a highly effective martial art. Although often performed slowly and “softly”, when properly practiced and applied correctly, it can be fast and powerful. The secret is internal energy flow. Energy flow and internal force developed in Taijiquan makes practitioners powerful as martial artists, but one doesn't have to be a fighter to enjoy these amazing benefits. Taijiquan keeps us healthy, agile and full of vitality.

In this course, Grandmaster Wong will focus on the internal flow of Taijiquan. This is a great course for beginners to start their training but also an excellent course for intermediate and advanced practitioners to further deepen their skills.

Main objectives of the course:
- Basics of Stances and Movement
- Flowing in Movement (Grasping Sparrow's Tail Sequence)
- Develop Internal Force through Flow
